H.A.S.H. Jeans

Does anybody remember H.a.s.h. jeans?
They where all the rage in the late 70's early 80's. With there wide legs and cool pockets. Of coarse you had to carry one of those colorful combs around in the back pocket of your awesome jeans.
H.A.S.H. jeans where expensive. $30 a pair. That was allot of money in those days.
I diligently saved up my babysitting money until I had enough to buy my first pair. The next time Mom went to the neighboring town of LaGrande I rode along and got myself these awesome jeans. Wearing them I would be so cool and popular.
feathered back hair, H.a.s.h. jeans, cool comb & chunky shoes. I never really got the popular part, but I felt cool in that pair of jeans.
What cool thing was a must have in your teen age years?

Stacey, I do not remember those types of jeans, not at all. I wonder why? Funny! I had a pair of sparkly platform shoes when I was in high school, I think the year was 1975. Is that hilarious? Does anyone remember peanut pants, from the early 70's? Very low in the hips and snapped shut? How about Peter Max pants? Jeans with colorful "patch" pockets?

I don't remember those jeans either. But the comb and the bell bottoms, I do.
I'm gonna make you giggle...
I wore those bell bottoms while roller skating. They were fine as long as I was upright. But when I squatted down to "shoot the duck", my pant leg went under the front of my skates and sent me on my nose. In front of my boyfriend, no less. Talk about embarrassed!!! Do you think he or his friend had mercy on me? They were cracking up. But atleast I roller skated. They weren't even brave enough to try.
I don't remember the jeans Mary spoke of either.

Oh yes! I remember H.A.S.H. jeans and I even remember your pair. I finally got a pair (when they were no longer the rage!) from The Salvation Army in LaGrande. Mine had little foot prints walking in a squiggly line across the back pockets. My first pair of new "designer jeans" was a pair of San Fransico Riding Gear jeans. I was way cool!

OMG!!! I was telling my 14 yr old daughter about these jeans and decided to google them and see if I could find them. I worked hard and saved my money for these, I had every new pair that came out, and I lived in a very small country town, nearest place to get them was 90 miles away!!! Would love to have a pair today.

I googled HASH jeans and found you site.... I do remember HASH jeans... My mom must have worked a lot of overtime to get me & my older sister a pair. I had a half moon on the back pocket and my comb said "Tush" :) I am so glad to share this little bit of my history with you all!

Oh yeah....I remember buying a pair of Hash Jeans to go to a movie with a boy. The style then was a tight t-shirt and clogs. I think my hair was really feathered too, like old time Heather Locklear. I remember the star on the bum. I thought I was too cool. Does anyone rememeber Ditto jeans?

I am so very glad I happened upon your blog. My kids would just give me strange looks each time I mentioned peanut pants. Now someone I don't know is blogging about them! Any idea where I can get a pair?

OMG...H*A*S*H jeans! I saved my baby-sitting money for these jeans, too. The only store in Elmira (my home town) that sold them was People's Place...which was owned by local-boy-done-well Tommy Hilfiger (yes, THAT Tommy Hilfiger). I washed them at night so I could wear them to school every day.

HASH jeans were ESPECIALLY cool with Zodiac lace-up boots!!! Man, to have a pair of THOSE now!

I lived in the very small town of Springville Ca. and we had a little store that sold Hash jeans in the 1970. I know they made a mint off of them. Lori Mullen Jones

I just picked up a pair. Not sure what they are worth. They don't fit me, obviously for a woman's waist. dudesommer@msn.com Email if you are interested or have any info? As I cant find any!

H.A.S.H. jeans had many styles. I also had hash bibs. They had about 10-15 different pocket styles and fashion styles. They were not all bell-bottomed either. I had almost every different pocket style. But that was many years ago now so I barely remember for sure how many different ones there was. The good old days!
