Little White Hen

It was quite a surprise to see chicks scurrying around this little white hen.
She is such a good mama.

A wild turkey ten times her size came up to check out her chicks. She ruffled up her feathers and chased that no good turkey away.

I love to see her out clucking to her hatchling's. Showing them where food is and keeping them safe from harm.

Awwww! Cute! She's confused about the seasons, though. Chicks are supposed to hatch in the SPRING. Silly chicken.

What a GREAT surprise!
Someday I want to find that same surprise here on my farm. I want chickens so bad.

This is a test...it is only a test...seems some of my comments are disappearing without posting. Ridiculous!

And what beautiful little striped chicks they are, too! I just had a white banty hatch one chick, who is gray, and a couple of days later a sneaky Barred Rock pullet came out of the bushes with 5 little black babies!
