Sunday Stills- Plants and Flowers

This is alfalfa. We raise it to feed cows. It resembles clover and is very high in protein, so it keeps them fat and sassy.

The chickens also like it. if they eat to much alfalfa the yolks of their eggs turn a weird green color.

Green eggs and ham anyone?

Sure. I think alfalfa-flavored eggs sound just fine. I'll have mine scrambled please!

So that's where Dr. Seuss came up with the idea. I wonder if he knew it was due to alph alpha?
I've never seen it growing before. Thanks for posting a pic!

alfalfalfalfalf... I say that routinely when I get in a silly mood.. it's such a funny sounding word.

My dad (a farmer in part of his life) talks about alfalfa alot.
