Hansel & Gretels Strawberry Basket

Have you read the book "Inkheart" By Cornelia Funke?
This was a fabulous tale which I enjoyed immensely. In this novel as the reader tells a story out loud characters from the book pop into this world.
I've always enjoyed reading and sometimes do catch myself reading out loud.
Thinking "Inkheart was just a fairy tale I had no qualms about reading "Hansel & Gretel" out loud.
"Once upon a time a very poor woodcutter lived in a tiny cottage in the forest with his two children, Hansel and Gretel. His second wife often ill-treated the children and was forever nagging the woodcutter.
"There is not enough food in the house for us all. There are too many mouths to feed! We must get rid of the two brats," She declared. And she kept on trying to persuade her husband to abandon his children in the forest."
As the story goes on Hansel & Gretel are taken deep into the forest with a basket that must be filled with strawberry's before they return.
Suddenly on my table appeared this basket of strawberry's.
Oh dear, poor Hansel & Gretel, they can never return empty handed to the evil stepmother.
I must find a way to get the strawberry basket back into the hands of the rightful owners.

Sweet sweet basket! I love this post. So fun and magical. I sure hope that you are able to find those children and return their basket! Now, in Inkheart, when something appears, something also disappears. What did you lose?
