This pair of trumpeter swan's & their family came for a visit to Antelope Lake.Trumpeter swans are the largest of North American waterfowl.
Their long necks allow them to forage for vegetation with out diving.
I feel very lucky to have seen them.
They are an endangered species.
In the 1930's there were only 300 in Canada, but are in recovery now.

Very cool, I saw a pair of them at the Columbus zoo, they use them for breeding and use their babies to repopulate the wild..:-))

I love watching trumpeter swans. There's a spot about a half hour drive from here where they winter and I'll soon be checking it out again. I got some beautiful photos last spring.
