Grease

We attended the high school play "Grease" last night. It was amazing, we have defiantly got star quality in our Powell high school!

I remember when the movie "Grease" first came out in 1978. What a great show, with John Travolta and Olivia Newton John. My friend Cindy had her Birthday party sleep over and all of us excited middle school girls piled into her Mom's van and went to the Elgin theater to see it.

It brought tears to my eyes when Rizzo sings " I don't steal and I don't lie/ but I can cry/ a fact I bet you never knew/ but I can cry in front of you/that's the worst thing I can do.

For a time Grease was the third highest grossing movie behind "Jaws' 1975 and "Star Wars" 1977

Did you know the scene in Frenchy's bedroom while Rizzo is singing the line about Elvis was actually filmed the same day Elvis Presley died?

No I didn't know that.
Oh, smack me, I don't think I've ever watched the whole thing through. Just bits and pieces.

I did not know that either!

Grease is my sister's all-time favorite movie. I like it too, but have not watched it as much as she has. Because of her, it holds a special place in my heart.

Debbie and I used to watch Grease over and over again when I would go to Pendleton in the summer for a couple of weeks. Such a fun movie and I imagine that the play was just as fun. In Jr. High we did a concert of all of the songs. Loved it!
