Civil War Reenactment

The Powell eighth grade class performed a Civil war reenactment today.
They did the battle of Gettysburg.
The drums rolled and the battle was on. The smoke rose. The cannon's and artillery's fired and many men lost their lives.
President Lincoln in his tall black hat read the Gettysburg address.
A battle was fought and history was learned by all.
Thank goodness for teachers who step out of the box with imaginative ways to teach a class.
Do you remember any special ways you or your children have been taught?

That's very cool. I bet it was fun to watch! Was Dawn one of the actors? Actresses, I suppose.

Sounds so fun-and I bet the kids will remember it forever. Sad to say-not much of teaching outside the box goes on at my girls school.

Not really a whole lot of out of the box teaching here either.
But we try to teach on vacations and at home.
