What Time is it?

Does anybody really know what time it is?
I've always been fascinated by the concept of time. I remember learning to tell time when I was five or six years old. We lived in Alaska and Dad worked at Alaska Airlines. He always came home at six on the dot. I remember asking Mom when Dad was coming home, so she showed me where the hands on the clock would be. Sure enough, Daddy walked in the door when the big hand was on the twelve and the little hand on the six.
I started wearing a watch at a very young age. People always asked me what time it was. I remember when I was in third grade, my friend Cindy's Mom couldn't belief that I knew how to tell time.
To this day I feel naked without my watch.
One of my all time favorite books is "A wrinkle in time" by Madeleine L'Engle
Today is the day I will go all around the house changing our numerous clocks to daylight savings time, springing forward.
What has happened to that hour?
Where has it gone?

That hour has been cut and pasted to from the beginning of the day to the end.
Did you know that I couldn't tell time for a really long time? We (us and the Miller kids) would be out fishing in the pond and Kathy and Danny needed to be home at a certain time. I would always be the one told to go in the house and check the time. I would go, but would linger and linger, trying to figure out what time it was until I would finally come out and say "the big hand is on ___ and the little hand is on___." Then somebody would always start making fun of me for not being able to tell time. It's all you guys' fault that I have issue's!

I learned to tell time at an early age, too.
My son has learned to tell time by when we go camping, he kept asking when it was time to go fishing. So I taught him to tell time that way. Then he drove us nuts, saying it's almost time!

Stacey,

Ah, time. I wore a watch from a very young age also. I have always had a tendency to be early or right on time--never late. If I'm late I have a fit. LOL

Enjoyed your post. I've heard of the book "A Wrinkle in Time" and am going to look it up.

Blessings,
Mary

I've wondered about time too-and especially where that hour goes :-)

Me and my girls have had the same conversation about the 80's!
