We had company coming from Wisconsin for Thanksgiving. They said they would bring the turkey so I didn't buy one.
The day before the big holiday I mentioned that I sure hoped our relatives remembered the turkey. My co-worker Shirley said, "Just shoot a wild one if they forget."
I replied "We don't have any at our house."
Coming down our driveway on the way home I looked into the trees and where I saw nineteen wild turkeys. I was so surprised.
No, we didn't butcher one. Our company did bring a turkey.
These majestic birds are still hanging around gobbling and strutting right in our yard.

How fun! I love watching them and listening to them. Do they make a lot of noise since they hang out so close to the house?
19! Wow!
Gobble Gobble Gobble (times 19!)
We have lots of wild turkeys. Hunting season is one of the biggest around here for turkeys.
Hi, Stacy - I just now found your comment from a few weeks ago. Shame on me! I had to come say hi and thanks for your visit!
Glad you're thawing out and spring has come to your part of the world. Lucky you getting to see all that wildlife! We get to see lots of turkeys here in Texas, too, and deer.
I sure do like your new dining room - it's really pretty and I know you're enjoying the extra space.
Can I come over and have some of those delicious pancakes? I think I can smell them from here!!!
We have them from time to time here on the farm.
Just the other morning I walked out on the porch to enjoy the morning and could hear turkeys gobbling. I couldn't see them, but I knew they were close.
